For many people, the stone is the most important part of the engagement rings. Although, we all know that the size and the shape of the stone is really a matter of budget. If chosen a bigger stone, it is also more expensive. And because the diamond is most often associated with engagement ring to choose the size and the shape of the stone is a little bit hard to decide.
Diamonds comes from different cuts that are suit for the engagement rings. Hope this may help you a little.
Round — this is the most popular style for rings. A round ring goes with just about any setting and it is supposed to be the best shape to show off the stone’s brilliance.
Princess — this is a square diamond that looks bigger than differently shaped diamonds of the same weight.
Emerald Cut — this is a rectangular cut diamond that is considered as the most sophisticated of all the shapes.
Marquis — This are also round but it looks longer than a round or oval cut diamond because the two ends are pointed.
Pear — this kind of shape is almost rounded at the top but the bottom is pointed. This type of cut doesn’t look very good in a single stone set into a ring. This kind of shape is recommended for other types of jewelry, such as necklaces or earrings.
Oval — this kind of cut is also a similar one to the round cut, but it looks bigger because of its shape. This shape works best with larger stones
