Make Sure your Jewelry Fits the Outfit

Unless you’re a neuro surgeon you’re probably wearing jewelry most every day of the week. (There’s nothing quite like dropping your favorite earring inside a patient’s gray matter is there?) But how can you be sure that the outfit and jewelry you plan to wear for the day will go together? More often than not the thing to remember is… Less is more.

Earrings and Necklaces

Earrings are an essential part of any accessorizing venture; you can change your entire look simply by changing the manner in which you wear earrings. Remember smaller hoops or studs for the office and the big giant gangly ones for out at the club. Tank tops and flowing skirts go well with large hoops; and an off the shoulder look draws attention to the earrings. Necklaces are probably one of the most popular choices when it comes to accessorizing. If only more people knew how to do it. Most women have, literally, a necklace for every occasion. The fashion as of late are leaning toward the large clunky type which have no problem drawing attention to themselves. But something smaller like a simple gold chain or locket is nice for evening wear.

Rings and Bracelets

It’s hard to find a ring that isn’t too little or too much. The big bulky ones however tend to distract people’s eyes away from your outfit. Your husband will like this… Your wedding ring is always, always appropriate… No matter the outfit. Bracelets have a rough go of it because they’re constantly outdone by necklaces and earrings. And it’s a shame because there are some utterly exquisite bracelets out there. Large clunky bracelets are fun and a good idea for accessorizing jeans and a nice tank top, but they go great with evening wear as well.

And don’t forget hair accessories… Yes they’re jewelry, too.
